PROFILE SUMMARY
Dr. Hauptman studied Engineering at the Technion (the Israel Institute of Technology) and earned M.Sc and Ph.D degrees from the faculty of Engineering at Tel-Aviv University. He specializes in Technology & Society Foresight and in the evaluation of impacts of emerging technologies on society, including related Wild Cards. During many years of research at Tel-Aviv University he has been involved in numerous Foresight studies within projects for the European Union, such as future developments in Nanobiotechnology, threat scenarios posed by the “dark side” of emerging technologies, wild cards related to future innovations in general and in the transportation field in particular, the impact of new technologies on privacy, and more. He is the chairman of the Israeli node of the Millennium Project, a fellow of the Zvi Meitar Institute for Social and Legal Implications of Emerging Technologies at IDC Herzliya, and a lecturer in Technology Foresight at the Israel Academic College in Ramat-Gan. |
